North Country Quilting

On Saturday 2nd July I went along with my Aunt and Grandma for the start of a two day course on North Country Quilting. I have no previous quilting experience at all, however it is something that I definitely want to start.
So after lots of tea and cake and a lot of changing my mind and driving everyone crazy I have my first ever quilt design.

It is quite hard to make out the pattern because I chose a darker colour material, (just to be different :D I'm pretty sure these are normally on beige/cream colours but I'm just not a beige kinda girl).
But I am finally quite happy with it.  This weekend we will finish the course and learn how to put it all together and start actually sewing :D I will keep you all updated on how this goes, but I get the feeling this will be just about ready for the winter.

I am actually quite proud of myself, it's far from perfect but it was my first go and it is wearable.  It could do with a little bit more length but the most important thing is that my daughter loves it and thinks that I'm a magic mummy for turning the wool into a cardigan - what more can you ask for???

Happy Fathers Day

I simply want to say happy fathers day to my gorgeous husband, who is the best father my children could ever ask for!
We have had a lovely day today,and amazingly both children and the dog have been behaviour!I hope that wherever you are that you have had a lovely fathers day too.

Phew...

Well Thank God that's over!Won't find out results until August, so there's not really anything else I can do on that front at the moment.
Which means that I can put my precious free time on crafting!Wahoo! I nearly have a cardigan for my daughter done - first item of clothing I have knitted, in some beautiful wool, pictures and everything will be up once it is all completed.  Then I am going to make some curtains for my son's room, pre-shrink some fabric for a skirt and possibly even  get some cross stitch done - well that is the plan anyway ...

Exam

Tomorrow I will complete DSE212 along with hundreds of other stressed out psychology students by sitting a three hour exam!
I have been grouchy and stressed and my husband deserves a medal for putting up with me , giving me simple things like a lie in, cooking for me and generally being supportive (even if it does fall on deaf ears) today I will be completing my 'mind maps' and tomorrow hopefully I will surprise myself by actually knowing some of it!So I would like to say good luck to anyone else out there freaking out about the exam but it will soon be over with!

Dog Days

I introduce you to Harley, the newest member of our family:

We picked him up last night and he is THE cutest puppy ever.   He has had immense fun running round this morning with my pesky kids and I think he might have managed to sniff every last inch of the downstairs.  He seems quite settled though and we adore him already!
